Coaches

Robert Fong

HI my name is Robert Fong and I am the head coach of the Lady Barons 2025 team. I agreed to coach the team because I am friends with Kevin Shinmoto and Kyle Tsuye.  They asked me to coach while we were playing golf.  I asked my sons, Kyle and Keilen, to join me and we added Tymiko to join our coaching team.  I enjoy coaching because I love to teach the girls new things and then will enjoy watching them develop over the years.  I was a point guard when I actively played basketball.  Outside of coaching, I enjoy fishing golfing and traveling. I do not have a personal motto but believe that if you work hard everything will fall into place.

Kyle Fong

I agreed to coach this team because Coach Rob asked me. I was on the rocks at first, but all in after going to the first few practices; it was an easy decision. This group, the team and their families, are all that you could ask for as a coach. I enjoy coaching for a few reasons: winning is fun, it’s rewarding to teach basketball and lessons about life through the game of basketball, and it’s special to be a part of each of the girls’ lives and to continue to watch them grow. I play guard, haha mainly the bench. Things I enjoy – family, friends, and a long list of other things. I’m fascinated by a lot! I have a few quotes that I live by and they work for me:

• Success isn’t about talent or ability. It’s about showing up daily, being focused and being consistent.
• The longest journey is the journey inwards. It’s hard to be alone, but with family, friends, community, a few values to live by – that’s the stuff of life
• It’s always the right time to show your love or say I love you.
• Do things that are fun and interesting to you, that have a community of people that you enjoy.
• Do what’s in your heart, your mind will follow.

Tymiko Patterson

Hi my name is Tymiko Patterson and I am the coach of the Lady Barons 2025 team. I agreed to coach the team because I thought it would b a good opportunity for me. I knew most of the girls already and I am close with the other coaches.  I enjoy coaching because It’s fun seeing the growth of the players especially if you get to be with the same group for 4+ years. It a special feeling and not one you can take for guaranteed. I currently play the position of guard when I play basketball. My favorite things to do outside of basketball is being around family or friends, and hiking. My personal motto is: “Do the best you can until you know better. Then, when you know better, do better” – Maya Angelo.

Mykaela Le

My name is Mykaela Le and the position I play is guard.  To me, being a Lady Baron means to be apart of a family and cheer on your team no matter win or lose. Outside of basketball, I like to hangout with my friends and family, draw and make arts and crafts. My motto is, “Have fun and think positive.”

Sophia Mindermann

Hi my name is Sophia Mindermann and position I play is shooting guard. I’m excited to be a player on the 2025 Lady Barons team. Being a lady baron means to always have integrity and good sportsmanship, to always do my best, and be a good teammate. My hobbies are watching Netflix, reading, and traveling to new places and trying new things.

Suelyn Saelee

Hi my name is Suelyn Saelee and the position I play point guard/guard. As a Lady Baron you are apart of a family. You’re held at high standards by others. You are to respect others and show kindness, but you will have a lot of fun.  Outside of basketball, I enjoy hanging out with family, talking to friends, and watching movies or tv shows.  My motto is, “Tomorrow is another day.”

Kacie Shinmoto

My name is Kacie Shinmoto and the position I play is guard.  To me, being a Baron is a great honor and very exciting.  I can’t wait to play with my teammates and to be a part of the Baron family. I enjoy hanging out with friends, getting boba and sleeping. My motto is, “Trust the process.”

Mackenzie Tan

My name is Mackenzie Tan and I play the guard position in basketball. To me, being a Lady Baron means supporting my teammates, building relationships with my team and coaches, having a positive work ethic, and having fun! Outside of basketball, I enjoy listening to music, hanging out with friends and family, and traveling! My personal motto is “tomorrow is another day”. Thank you!

Sydney Teoh

My name is Sydney Teoh and the position I play is point guard/shooting guard.  To me, being a Lady Baron means to be dedicated, respectful, and to have fun. Outside of basketball, I enjoy drawing, baking, and spending time with friends and family. My motto is, “What you put in is what you will get out of it.”

Malia Tsuye

Hello my name is Malia Tsuye and the position I play is point guard and wing guard. I am exciting to be playing on the 2025 Baron team! Being a Lady Baron means I can play basketball with my friends, make new friends, and learn more skills from my coaches.  I am excited to make more memories with my teammates and coaches.  My hobbies are painting, swimming and napping.  My motto is, “When nothing goes right, go left.”

Kaylee Wong

My name is Kaylee Wong and the position I play is power forward and center.  To me, being a Baron is a big honor as a player and to even be apart of the amazing community.  I live to play heard and make amazing memories with my teammates and coaches.  Outside of basketball, I enjoy hanging out with friends and family, doing arts and craft, and shopping.  My motto is, “Don’t be afraid and take risks and live life to its fullest.”
